Luna: In August of 2023 it had been 6 months since I had lost my sweet Rose suddenly. I wasn't really looking to adopt another dog just yet, but when a friend of mine reached out via Facebook showing me a post that a lady was giving away a dog for free because the owner died and seeing she was a white dog (my weakness) I had to reach out. The lady was giving me the run around about coming to see her and not giving me solid information about Echo was her name at the time. After two days of back and forth she said she just took her to the shelter. I immediately called Lincoln County shelter and because the lady brought her in as a stray, I had to wait for the 10-day hold. That 10 days was up on a Friday and unfortunately, I couldn't get to the shelter that day. I called again and they said that there was an adoption even Saturday at Pet Smart. I went right at 10am and they weren't even set up yet. They brought Echo out, I got on my knees and she put her paws on my shoulders and put her head in my neck. I knew she was meant to be mine. I adopted her within the hour and took her home. It was definately meant to be and she help me heal from losing Rose. She fit right in, she was good with her other siblings and even with our cat. It took us a little to get used to her personality and she has a big one. She smiles with her teeth, and if you didn't know her, you would think she was being mean. But that is just her, she is big in every way. She talks to you when she wants your attention, or needs to go out or just wants what you're eating. She loves going on walks, and car rides; she doesn't like water. I still have yet to have a dog that does...lol We named her Luna, but Echo did fit her after getting to know her with her vocalization of everything and her howling. We are not sure what breed she is but Husky has got to be in her blood. We had a rough go the first year with her. She ended up in the hospital twice after our dog Maxx out of the blue for no reason attacked her. The second time I was on vacation and she almost didn't make it. But she is resilient, strong and acts like nothing happened. She is such an amazing girl and she just loves her humans. She is quarky, silly and a cuddle bug. She lets you know when she wants to sit with you or get under the covers. She has such a big personality and she lets you know. I am so happy she is in my life and that she has brought me happiness in my time of need.
